St. John's Wort.. no more depression

Hypericum is the herb Hypericum perforatum also know as St. John’s Wort (wort meaning “plant”). Hypericum has been used for thousands of years as a medicine. It’s been popular for about 15 years in Europe as a natural remedy for depression. In Germany, where it’s currently the leading treatment, physicians write some 3 million prescriptions a year - 25 times the number they write for Prozac.

Long before depression was isolated as an illness by traditional western medicine, the symptoms of depression -worry, “nervous unrest”, sleep disturbances and others - were treated in folk medicine by St. John’s Wort. In modern herbal medicine, St. John’s Wort is used first and foremost to treat depression. If you sought the guidance of a herbalist, they would almost invariably recommend hypericum first.

Hypercium is currently being medically studied as a treatment for AIDS, several forms of cancer, bed wetting and night terrors in children, skin diseases such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, peptic ulcers and even hangovers.

St John's Wort $26.19

The high success rate of treatment - combined with hypericum's minimal side effects, low cost, and availability - make hypericum, for many people, the first line of treatment for long- term, low-grade depression and for mild to moderate or major depression.

Barbara Walters: “Next, an absolutely amazing medical discovery. A simple herb that could change the lives of millions of Americans who suffer from depression. Dr. Timothy Johnson with a medical revolution in the making.”

Hugh Downs: “Now, a truly startling medical breakthrough, one that could affect millions of people who suffer from mild depression. Right now many of them are treated with drugs like Prozac, but there may be a better way. Researchers say an amazing herb is proving to be safer, cheaper, and just as effective as prescription drugs in treating depression. Traditional medicine is slowly holding out a hand to some alternative therapies and as Dr. Timothy Johnson will show you, all of us may reap the benefits.
